Weekend Whirlwind

This past weekend, we drove up to Utah for a graduation celebration/wedding/family reunion.

We left Wednesday, and had a successful drive into Salt Lake.  The girls were happy with their movies, and even received a doughnut each from  a very nice lady at the Maverick in Cedar City.  Caylee was a fan of that for sure.  We bought a neck pillow for Jocey so she wouldn't get her neck kinked when she fell asleep in the car  - yeah, she didn't use it.  She looks SO comfortable, right?!

When we arrived in Salt Lake, our change oil light had come on, so we had to stop and get it changed.  While we were waiting, we walked over to the mall and treated the girls to a couple of "Build a Bears."  They're celebrating the new Smurf movie with some fun hats, so the girls got one - Caylee loves hers.  She makes a pretty cute Smurf.  :)  After we got the oil changed, we headed to our hotel where we met up with my sister, Liz, and her husband, Kent.  We relaxed for a bit and then headed over to Happy Sumo where we met up with our friends Dave and Jen, Kaj and Shelby, and their little girl Ellie.  Ellie and Jocey have been good friends for a while now, and they loved seeing each other.  Several times during dinner, they would be whispering to each other followed by a great little giggle.  We went outside after dinner and let the girls run around in the misters.  It was seriously so great for me to watch Jocey and Ellie together.  Best part of the evening.

Thursday morning we got up and headed over to the temple where my sister, Sara, married her fiancee, David.  She looked beautiful and the both are so happy.  After the wedding was the luncheon (can I just say that the JSMB serves DELISH strawberry crepes? YUM!) and then it was off to Evanston for the reception. That night we drove back down to Park City and stayed the night there.  We went swimming and watched Caylee plow face first into the floor of the room.  Poor kid, she has a nice fat lip now.

Friday we headed down to Cedar City for Jon's family reunion.  It was a fun 24 hours of hanging with Jon's brothers and their wives, Jon's dad, and Jon's stepbrother.  We played horseshoes, cards, went fishing, hiking, 4-wheeling, fed chipmunks, and had lots of good laughs.  Thanks to his brother, Lonny, and his wife, Donna, we also had an INCREDIBLE french toast breakfast.  Oh.My.Lanta. was it good.  :)  And then we had a quick drive home Saturday afternoon, where we arrived to a very lonely puppy, Shylowe.  She was so happy to see the girls, kept giving them kisses.

It was a lot of time spent in the car, and a lot of people that we saw, but it was fun.  Not sure we want to do it again, but it was still fun.
