Jocey started school yesterday. She was so excited. She woke up early, got ready, then had to sit around and wait until noon to go. She didn't shed one tear (I did), she didn't look back (I did), she had so much fun (I didn't). I'm so proud of her. Jon even ran home for lunch so he could be here to see her off. She came home singing the alphabet to "Who Let the Dogs Out." So funny.

Back to School Party Night
We've started a new tradition in our family. The Saturday before the kids go to school, we let them stay up and watch a movie with us, complete with popcorn, drinks, and snacks. Just like going to the movie theater. (Since we don't take them to the theater with us, we bring it to them.) So last night, we got everything set up and watched "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire." Jocey's request. It was fun to sit there and hang out with her. And tomorrow is the big day. She's growing up too fast.

Stuff
It's the weekend before school starts. (sigh) I am having a bit of a hard time. We went over to the school and met Jocey's teacher, bought her a school t-shirt, and learned all about the PTO. I know she's going to have a great time and make lots of friends, but I'm going to miss my baby.
With Jon being out of school now, we enjoyed our evenings with him this week.
(this girl used to be my baby. Now I look at her and I see myself as a little girl. When she was all curled up on the couch like this the other morning, it took me back to my childhood.)
With Jon being out of school now, we enjoyed our evenings with him this week.
The girls have really enjoyed wrestling with him on a daily basis. We've started painting the house again. And Jon and I are LOVING the opportunity to watch a few movies during the weekdays and to just hang out together. It's a lovely thing.

Fun on the Strip
With Jon finishing college this past week, we were finally able to take some time this weekend to go see a few things that we haven't since we moved here. Seriously, we've been in Las Vegas for almost 6 years and we haven't seen the M&M or Coke Stores. So, we went, and it was fun.
(Jocey wanted just about every color of M&M they had available. It was incredible to see the varieties.)
(Oh my word, could I possibly get an actual Coke can this big? PLEASE?!)
(Ha ha ha, they had these tiny bats at the Coke store, but the baseballs were regular size. So, there was only one thing that we could think those bats were for.)
(We took the girls inside the Planet Hollywood to see the rainstorm. Jocey liked it, Caylee was a little leery but they both loved throwing coins into the water to make their wishes.)

Wait, what?!
I have less than 2 weeks before I send Jocey off to school. Wait, WHEN DID SHE GROW UP?! Seriously. I'm bumming a little. Plus Caylee decided this week that she was tired of wearing diapers and wants to use the potty. I may throw a little tantrum here. My last baby is not so much a baby anymore, and my first baby is going off to school. Thankfully we have half day kindergarten here, so it won't be too traumatic for me yet. :)
(Jocey was playing Mario last week with us, and got frustrated with her dad that he won the coin battle. So, she jumped at him, and in his attempt to defend his "area" she plowed into his knee, causing a pretty good bloody nose and bruise afterward.)
(Caylee is definitely my girly girl. She is always wanting to paint her toe nails, wear flowers in her hair, wear sunglasses like mommy, and LOVES shoes. She's so dang funny. I went into her bedroom yesterday morning to get her up, and she was standing in her crib, butt naked, clapping her hands like she was the hero of the day. Oh my gosh.)

Weekend Fun
Jon's sister, Holly, was in town this weekend to go to a Toby Keith concert. So Friday night, we pulled our first adults only night out. Yup, we hired a babysitter and everything! We're growing up! :) We all went down to Toby Keith's Bar and Grill. We had a good time.
(Jon had fried twinkies for dessert. Very yummy.)
(This was a new experience for us, we're not used to being out at night! It's been 5 years since we were able to do this.)
(Jon's sister, Dawnie, kept trying to get Jon out on the dance floor. Yeah, that wasn't happening.)
And then we got up the next morning and went boating. We were out all day and the kiddos were WORN out on the way home.
Yesterday, I basically napped off and on all day. It was blissful. :) And now, it's back at it for another week. Boating next weekend? Yes please!

Sisterly Love
(My girls love each other so much. Morning is my absolute favorite time of the day with them. They can't give each other enough hugs and kisses, and usually after about an hour of being awake, they're off playing together. To hear the two of them playing and laughing is the best sound I ever heard.)

Table - 1, Caylee - 0
(I was sitting here yesterday, when I heard "bump, bump, crash...WAH!" Caylee had fallen off of the table, which she loves to climb up on regardless of my pleas and warnings that someday she would fall. I think she hit her eye on the leg of the table on the way down which caused this gash on her eye. Thankfully it wasn't deep enough to warrant stitches. I swear, if this kid doesn't have a bruise somewhere from falling, I would think there's something wrong with her.)

Art-eest
(Jocey has been in the writing and drawing mode lately in anticipation for school. She made this lovely piece yesterday - she calls it "Dinosaurs.")

Looking back
Yesterday, I took a moment to look back through all the blog entries I've done on our family, starting all the way back into 2008. I seem to have lost some of the joy that I had for blogging about us. I forgot that I need to be writing just a little bit each day. It was amazing to look back on my family and see where we've been and how far we've come. It's truly incredible. I need to be better about it. So, here we go. :)
(I caught Shy loving on Caylee's Curious George yesterday. I think Shylowe loves the girls so much that she enjoys getting any kind of contact with them. It was so sweet.)
